Abstract: This paper is about the determination of the plasma ferulic acid concentration by high performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC). A Shimadzu liquid chromatograph LC-4A with a column (25cm×4.6mm) of YWG-C18H37(C18 chemical bonded stationary phase) was used.60% methanol containing ethylendiamine and methanoic acid to a mixing liquid with pH value of 3~4 was chosen as the mobile phase. The detection was at 254nm.The quantity of ferulic acid was determined by the internal standard method with cinnamic acid as a reference. The results showed that the standard deviation was 2.15%(eight determinations),the rate of recovery was 94.25% and the standard curve was well linear. The proposed method is simple, rapid and reproducible.
