A Stroke Model in Rats with Acute Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion

The purpose of the experiment is to explore and establish a stable animal model of focal ischemic stroke in which the operation approach technique is accessible,the result is reliable and it has a high reproducibility.34 Sprague-Dawley rats were totally used in the experiment.The rat neurologic deficit and ischemic cortical lesion caused by occluding major middle cerebral artery were studied.The operation was performed under anaesthesia through a small subtemporal craniectomy by using microsurgical techniques.After 24h of occlusion, 27 out of expertmental rats had different grade neurologic deficit.Carbon black studies demonstrated that there were not vessel or had a rare vessel distribution in most part of left corte and basal ganglia.The ischemic area in rat brain was correspond to the grade of neurologic deficit in each animal.Neuropathological studies showed that there was a typical ischemic brain damage in the left cortex and basal ganglia.The experiml ntal animal model is useful for studying the mechanism of acute ischemic stroke.

In this paper,the results of CSAg Dot-ELISA and IEST with frozen section of cysticerus cellulosae as antigesn in the diagnosis neurocysticercosis were compared.Positive rales of CSAg,CWAg Dot-ELISAand IESTwere 94.6% (53/56),96.4% (54/56) and 98.2%(55/56) respectively.No cross-reaction was observed with sera from cases oFconorchiasis and paragonimiasis,while none of the 50 serum samples from normal controls was found positive.CSAg,CWAg Dot-ELISA and IEST with serum specimens from echinococcosis were 40.9% (9/22),22.7%(5/22) and 18.1%(4/22) respectively.The results showed both Dot-ELISA and IEST with frozen sections as antigens in the diagnosis of neurocysticercosis were considered to be of higher sensitivity and specificity.

After being mixed with Frund's adjuvant,horseradish peroxidase was used as antigen and injected into rat paw.Dynamic studies was carried out on:1.the retention time of antigen in local lymph nodes;2.the processing of antigen by macrophages;3.the effect on the synthesis of other unrelated immunoglubins after antigen stimulation.Four different histochemical and immunohistochemical methods were compared with light microscopy.Our results proved that the application of HRP,DAB and H₂O₂ as tracer substance and substrate for the studies on topics of cell biology and pathology makes it possible to observe the reaction products both in light microscope and electron microscope.It also permites to carry out comparative studies both at the bellular and ultrastractural levels.

The effect of macrophage activity in mice induced by arabinomannan polysaccharide determined by chemiluminescence showed that arabinomanna polysaccharide might enhance the activity stimulated by Staphaureus and S₁₈₀ ascites tumor cells.The result pointed out that this preparation might be used as a non-specific immunopotentiator and may kill tumor cells.

78 cases of asymptomatic HBsAg carriers were identified among 1668 cases of postmorem liver specimens by using immunohistochemical staining technique. The incidence was 4.7%,with the 8～12 years and the 20～29 years groups showing the highest positive rate.In 97 cases tested for serum HBsAg before death,16 cases showed HBsAg positive both in serum and in liver,2 cases were positive in liver but negative in serum,1 case was positive only in serum. Histopathological examination of 78 HBsAg carriers revealed that normal liver and NSRH were present in 84.6% of the carries,CPH was present in 7.7%, CAHwas present in 2.6%,the early stage of cirrhosis was present in 5.1%. The results also indicated that the incidence of HBcAg was significantly higher in children carriers than that in those who were elder than twelve (P<0.025).

An animal model of the femoral artery thrombosis based on virchows thrombosis principle was produced in rabbits.After the operations of the thrombosis model,we examined every thrombus volume and platelet quantity of every rabbit in the peripheral blood from the first to the sixth day.The radiography of the femoral artery and microscopic observations of the thrombi also were done.These results show the thrombus volume is the largest in the fourth day after the operations of the model.The platelet quantity is the highst in this time too.With the thrombns becoming organized its volume will be decreased and platelet quanlity will be ruduced to the normal level.

This paper is about the determination of the plasma ferulic acid concentration by high performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC). A Shimadzu liquid chromatograph LC-4A with a column (25cm×4.6mm) of YWG-C₁₈H₃₇(C₁₈ chemical bonded stationary phase) was used.60% methanol containing ethylendiamine and methanoic acid to a mixing liquid with pH value of 3～4 was chosen as the mobile phase.The detection was at 254nm.The quantity of ferulic acid was determined by the internal standard method with cinnamic acid as a reference.The results showed that the standard deviation was 2.15%(eight determinations),the rate of recovery was 94.25% and the standard curve was well linear. The proposed method is simple,rapid and reproducible.

A dignostic assay has been developed to detect HCMV DNA in clinical specimens with Biotin-labelled combined probes which were prepared from some cloned fragments of HCMV strain AD169.The labelled probe can detect 25pg of HCMV homologous DNA and fail to hybridize with DNA from other sources.With excellent specificity,the combined DNA probes can detect 100～500 infected cells or 2.57lg TCID₅₀ of HCMV.The assay have high correlation when compared to virus isolation.In the detection of clinical speciments,it correctly identified 3(100%) of 3 urine specimens from congenital deformith positive children.11(61%) of 18 urine specimens from hepatitis positive baby,and 3(75%) of 4 urine specimens from Hormon treatment positive children.There is the evidence that the hybridization assay are specific,sensitive and rapid method for HCMV infection detection.

M-mode echocardiography was performed in 40 patients with coronary artery disease(CAD)and 40 normal subjects.It was found that in CAD group the demension of aortic root,left atrium and ventricle,ventricular septum and ventricular free wall were widened;fractional shortening of the minor semi-axis and ejection fraction were decreased;the period of QC and A₂E,preejection time,isovolumie relaxation and contraction were prolonged; and mitral-septal angle was enlarged.From adove-mentioned findings,we conclude that CAD not influence cardiac structure but also damage ventricular diastolic function,contractility and pumping function.

Conventional lateral temporamandibular joint tomography does not show real lateral image of candyle generally due to the complexity of anatomical structures and more tissues overlapping.However,corrected tomography can be used to compensate the shortcomings of conventional tomography.This article mainly introdues the theary of corrected tomography and the comparative observation of three differant films of TMJ,Shullor's position,conventional tomography and corrected tomography films,for 23 cases of TMJDS by using corrected tomography. The result indicates it has certain advantages in showing variations of condyle.

In order to compare the curative effects of Chinese pirenzepine (PRZ) and cimetidine in the treatment of peptic ulcer,71 out-patients with endoscopically documented gastric and duodenal ulcer were treated with either PRZ 50mg three times a day,or cimetidine,200mg four times a day,for six weeks. Endoscopically cured rates were 69.5% and 50% respectively.The statistical significance was P<0.01.Adverse reactions to PRZ were high and reversible.
