Abstract: M-mode echocardiography was performed in 40 patients with coronary artery disease(CAD)and 40 normal subjects. It was found that in CAD group the demension of aortic root, left atrium and ventricle, ventricular septum and ventricular free wall were widened;fractional shortening of the minor semi-axis and ejection fraction were decreased;the period of QC and A2E,preejection time, isovolumie relaxation and contraction were prolonged; and mitral-septal angle was enlarged. From adove-mentioned findings,we conclude that CAD not influence cardiac structure but also damage ventricular diastolic function, contractility and pumping function.
