Preliminary Analyses on the Soluble Proteins and Antigens of Alveolar Hydatid Tissues and Cyst Fluid

Abstract

Abstract: The soluble proteins of cyst fluid,hydatid cysts,protoscoleces and cyst walls of alveolar hydatid obtained from experimentally infected gerbils(Meriones unguiculatus)were studied with SDS-PAGE.Four specimens showed respectively 23,26,26,and 25 protein bands with their major bands being respectively 4,7,5,and 7.Four kinds of soluble proteins mentioned above were tested as antigens with Dot-ELISA.Asensitivity of 67%,67%,100%, and 67% were found while the specificity showed 90%,89%,83.5%,and 91% respectively.
