Abstract: The dot enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(Dot-ELISA)and standard enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)were used to detect Cysticercus cellulosae antibodies in the sera of the patients with cerebroeysticercosis.By using Dot-ELISA,47 out of 52 pa-tients(92.3%)showed a positive reaction. In the standard ELISA,47 out of 52 patients (90.4%)showed a positive reaction.None of the 40 serum samples from normal controls was found positive by both assays.Although there were similar higher sensitivity and speci-ficity in the diagnosis of cerebrocysticereosis by both Dot-ELISA and standard ELISA,the Dot-ELISA is more economical, simple and do not need any specific equipment for the diagnosis of cerebrocysticercosis.Therefore,Dot-ELISA is suitable for clinic application and epidemic survey.
