Abstract: 25 anemia patients caused by chronic renal insufficiency, 15 patients kept haemodialy-sis, the other received nondialysis treatment, were given recombinant human erythropoietin (r-HuEPO) thrice a week intravenously. Haemoglobin(Hb) rose to 106±8 g/L in 23 cases after 6~8 weeks accompanying increased life quality. 1 of 5 eases with low platelets counts and 1 of 3 cases with low leukocytes returned to normal 12 weeks after r-HuEPO adminis-tration. Mean WBC and platelets counts increased 12 weeks after r-HuEPO therapy. Mean blood pressure increased while haemoglobin rose. No significant changes were found in serum creatinine, uria, calcium, phosphorus, uric acid, cretinine clearance and 24h proteinurea amount.
