Observation of the Effects of Lovastatin on Hyperliperdemia

Abstract

Abstract: Thirty patients with their serum total cholesterol level (TC)>250 mg/dl were pre-scribed lovastatin for 12 weeks and observed.The results showed that lovastatin was signifi-cantly efficacious in decraesing TC,apoprotein B and TC/HDL-C concentration as well as in raising the concentration of high density lipidprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in serum.Lovas-tatin was efficacious to some exteut in affecting triglyceride (TG) and not effecacious in af-fecting apoprotein A₁.
