Abstract: The soluble antigen used was obtained from homogenates of T.spiralis larvea and fast-enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(Fast-ELISA)was adopted in this test for diagnos-ing trichinosis.Forty nine cases of trichinosis were examined and all of them showed positive reaction.Sera of 100 healthy persons gave negative results.All 71 sera from other parasitic diseases showed negative results except schistosomiasis with a relatively high cross reaction rate of 23.5%.Epicdemiologieal survey for trichinosis by fast-ELISA method was conducted in 371 employees working with pork handling and 258 slaughtered pigs naturally infected with T.spiralis in Xinye county,Henan province.The results of antibody examination were correlated with clinical and laboratory findings.The reproducbility was demonstrated to be good by analysing coefficient of variation.No significant changes occurred when antigen was kept in room temperature for 12 weeks or treated by heat(37℃ 30 min,56℃ 30 min,64℃ 30 min,100℃ 1,2,3 min,in water bath).The experimental results were analysed with con-trol graph of sheward.
