Abstract: In the sociological surveys it is extremely important to use “Scales” to quantify those characteristics which seem to be unmeasurable originally.This paper reports on now several methods of relianbility analysis were used in the design and pilot study of “Beijing Multidi-mensional Longitudinal Study”to verify the consistency and accuracy of the items as well as lessons learned.Our tests have proved that above mentioned methods,Especially cronbach method measuring coefficiencies are conducive to verify the consisitency and accuracy of measurments,Thus usefuil to upgrade the scientific level of the research design.
