Abstract: The extract of rhodiola appear to be effective to help the body to resist and tolerate low temperature, fatigue and oxygen hungry. We propose that it might be possible to be used as a new food resourses and supplement. In our study the extract of rhodiola was given to groups of pregnant rats by stomach-tubing in doses of 0.8g,1.6g and 3.2g/kg of body weight re-spectively.The results showed that there were no teratogenic effects for the experimental groups and the negative control group. However, teratogenic effects for the positive control group was obvious. This results provide the scientific evidence for the evaluation of toxicolo-gy and safety of rhodiola containing beverage.
