Abstract: 2(RS)-D-Gluco-(1',2',3',4',5'-Pentahydroxypentyl)Thiazolidine-4(R)-Carboxylic Acid has been synthesized by condensation between D-glucose and L-cysteine.Using this compound as ligand we prepared five novel metal complexes. They are complexes of Zn(Ⅱ), Fe(Ⅱ),Mn(Ⅱ),Cu(Ⅱ),Ni(Ⅱ),respectively.Their composition and structure were char-acterized and studied by molar conductivity, element analysis, thermogravimetry, infrared and UV-spectra.

Key words: D-glucose, chelate of metal ion, trace-element
