Abstract: The results of experiment with chemiluminescence technique showed that both decoc-turn of fermented cordyceps sinensis sacc.(DFCSS)(0.2~200 mg/L)and astragalu polysac-charide(APS) (0.1~10 mg/L)copromoted bacteriocidal function and a dose-dependent rela-tion was evident with each agent.Increasion penicillin G(1 mmol/L)increased and chlopro-mazine(0.08 mmol/L)reduced bacteriocidal activities of PMN at therapeutic conceutration. Bioluminescence(BL)technique was also used in our experiment and results tested with this technique revealed that DFCSS within 0.2~200 mg/L was able to promote bactericidal ac-tivities of PMN.The results dectected by CL,BL and CFU methods were analysed and there a good coincidence with each method. Therefore,it is feasible to use CL and/or BL technique to substitute for CFU technique in the assessment of the effect of drugs on neutrophil phago-cytosis.
