Oneogenes appear to be involved in tumorigenesis of human brain tumours via qualita-tive and quantitative alterations.Twenty eases of the human brain turnouts were studied by DNA amplification with the dot blot method.c-erb B(0.5 kb)oncogene was used as probe. The result showed that the c-erb B amplification was found in seven menigioma and ten cases of glioma Ⅲ or glioblastoma multiform.It is suggested that c-erb B oneogene plays an important role in the development of human brain tumour.

The results of experiment with chemiluminescence technique showed that both decoc-turn of fermented cordyceps sinensis sacc.(DFCSS)(0.2～200 mg/L)and astragalu polysac-charide(APS) (0.1～10 mg/L)copromoted bacteriocidal function and a dose-dependent rela-tion was evident with each agent.Increasion penicillin G(1 mmol/L)increased and chlopro-mazine(0.08 mmol/L)reduced bacteriocidal activities of PMN at therapeutic conceutration. Bioluminescence(BL)technique was also used in our experiment and results tested with this technique revealed that DFCSS within 0.2～200 mg/L was able to promote bactericidal ac-tivities of PMN.The results dectected by CL,BL and CFU methods were analysed and there a good coincidence with each method.Therefore,it is feasible to use CL and/or BL technique to substitute for CFU technique in the assessment of the effect of drugs on neutrophil phago-cytosis.

We investigated the effects of Mai Tong Ling Ⅰ,Ⅱ on the contraction of rabbit aortic strips and the aggregation of platelets.The results showed that Mai Tong Ling Ⅰ,Ⅱ at the concentration of 50～150g/L reduced the aortic contraction initiated by NE and KCI.In the experiments with rabbit platelet,the aggregation induced by AA(0.21～0.39 mmol)and ADP(8～18 mmol)was also inhibited by Mai Tong Ling Ⅰ,Ⅱ(66.7～4.2g/L PRP),re-spectively.

2000 biopsy and 60 outopsy placentus were examinated under light microscope and cli-nical statistical data were recorded.100 cases of chorioangiosis were discovered and indica-ted.The chorioangiosis is associated with villitis.The inflammatory cells infitrate in villose mesenchyme and placental vascular proliferation may be caused.Acute and chronic ischemic changes of placente may also lead to chorioangiosis.Chorioangiosis results from cesarean sec-tion.It is important that chorioangiosis may cause fetal distress,intrauterine growth retarda-tion,abnormality and death of the neonate and fetus.

Herpes simplex virus type 2(HSV-2)in cervical biopsy was determined by using im-munocytochemical technique in 42 cases with different cervical diseases.The results showed that there were the high frequence of positive immunoreaction in the squamous cell carcino-ma of cervix(88.9%),cervical polyps(77.8%)and chronic cervicitis(68.4%).On the other hand,all 5 cases with cervical adenocarcinoma and adenocarcinoma of endometrium invading the cervix were negative.This indicates that the pathological courses of squamons cell carci-noma of cervix,cervical polyps and chronic cervicitis have close correlation with the infection of HSV-2.Further study is needed for understanding the causality of those diseases and in-fection of HSV-2.

The changes of ultrastructure of human embryonic lung diploid fibroblasts(HELDF) cultured in vitro in the process of cell aging were studied with scanning electron-microscope (SEM)and transmission electron-microscope(TEM).In the meanwhile,the antiaging ef-fects of Huangqi(Astragalus membranceus Bunge,or AMB)at different stages were studied dynamically.The results showed that HELDF cultured in vitro lived up to 52 generations while the culture medium containing 0.2% AMB extract made the cells live up to 77 genera-tions.Under SEM we saw that the cells changed from flat and long fusiform to ball-shaped. Their pseudopodia and microvilli increased progressively.The body of cell became smaller,its hollows deepened gradually.Under TEM the change of cells with increasing age were mainly as follows:Nucleus became smaller gradually.The hollows deepened increasingly.Nuclear membrane changed from partly fusion to totally disintegration.Heterochromatins increased while euehromatins decreased gradually.Nucleous became small and loose.Mitochondria and their eristae decreased.The stroma became cohesive,swollen and vaeuolized.Rough endo-plasmic reticulum decreased and degranulated.The free ribosomes increased.Golgi complexes decreased and their cysts arrayed disorderly and swelled.Lysosomes decreased and lipofuscin increased gradually.The rules of changes of the organelles of the cells treated with AMB were basically the same as those of the control cells in the process of cell aging.However,the degree of change of the former is obviously lighter and the speed of change is also relatively slower.Golgi complexes and centrosomes were especially rich in the cells treated with AMB and they did not show much decrepitude although the cells have aged.Our research mani-fests that AMB has good effects on antiaging and longevity.As a medicine of antiaging and longevity,it should be payed more attention and further exploration.

Eighteen patients with chronic lower-extremity ischemia were reported:13 cases with atherosclerosis,3 cases with arteritis(Takayasu’s disease),and 2 cases with arterial em-bolism.All patients were diagnosed by angiography.13 cases(15 times)were treated by per-cutaneous transluminal angioplasty,2 cases by embolectomy,1 case by endarterectomy,and 5 cases by bypass graft.17 patients were followed up from 3 months to 6 years:14 cases were cured with disappearance of the symptoms and 3 cases showed improvement.We will discuss in detail the diagnosis and treatment of the chronic lower-extremity ischemia in the report.

Twenty SLE sera were examined for ENA autoantibodies with calf thymus and human spleen extracts,and HEP-2 cell lysate as antigens in CIE,and HEP-2 lysate as antigen in 1D-IB and 2D-IB.1D-IB was more sensitive than CIE for the detection of Sm antibody only. 2D-IB could effectively detect SS-A and SS-B antibodies and analyze their fine specificities; it could demonstrate RNP antibodies reacting with 68 kD and 20 kD polypeptides,but had a low detection rate for Sm antibody(3 positives out of 20 sera).The use of HEP-2 cell lysate as antigen in CIE yielded a low detection rate for SS-B antibody(2/20).

We conducted a random crossover study on the effects of a new androgenic preparation “andriol”in 62 elderly men with coronary heart disease(CHD).Our results showed that serum estradial(E₂)level and estradial/testosterone(E₂/T)ratio were significantly elevated and serum T level was significantly reduced(all P<0.001)in CHD patients,when com-pared with those in healthy controls,indicating that there was disorder of sex hormones (SH)in elderly men with CHD.After administration of andriol,the disorder of SH in CHD patients was improved,that is,serum T level was increased significantly(P<0.001),E₂ le-vel did not change significantly(P>0.05)and E₂/T ratio was reduced(P<0.05).There was no significant change in the control group.No obvious side effect was found in those who took andriol.

A systematic immunohistochemical investigation of S-100 protein was performed on 168 cases of various neoplastic tissues with anti-S-100 protein polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies.S-100 protein was observed in glioma,Schwannoma,neurofibroma,traumatic neuroma,malignant Schwannoma and“Triton”tumor.S-100 protein was also detected in pigmented nevus,melanoma,liposarcoma,chondrosarcoma and salivary gland tumors.Espe-cially,we have demonstrated S-100 protein in eosinophilic adenoma and medullary carcinoma of thyroid gland,adenocarcinoma of bile duct and bronchiolar adenocarcinoma.The value of S-100 protein on tumor dignosis was discussed.
