Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Lower-Extremity Ischemia

Abstract: Eighteen patients with chronic lower-extremity ischemia were reported:13 cases with atherosclerosis,3 cases with arteritis(Takayasu’s disease),and 2 cases with arterial em-bolism.All patients were diagnosed by angiography.13 cases(15 times)were treated by per-cutaneous transluminal angioplasty,2 cases by embolectomy,1 case by endarterectomy,and 5 cases by bypass graft.17 patients were followed up from 3 months to 6 years:14 cases were cured with disappearance of the symptoms and 3 cases showed improvement.We will discuss in detail the diagnosis and treatment of the chronic lower-extremity ischemia in the report.
