Abstract: Cysts of Giardia lamblia isolated from the feces of a Giardia-infected rabbit were inoculated into suckling BABL/C mice.Trophozoites of G. Lamblia obtained from the intestinal lumen of infected BABL/C mice were cultivated in modified TYI-S-33 medium at 37℃.Trophozoites grew luxuriantly and formed an intensive monolayer on the inner surface of the culture tube on day 20 after initial cultivation. Periodic examinations of Giardia culture for bacteria contamination used with petri dishs containing blood agar, proved negation. This axenic culture has been made more than 20 subcultures.
