The Effect of Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide on Reperfusion-Induced Arrhythmias in Rat

Abstract: We investigated the effect of calcitonin gene-related peptide on the reperfusion-induced arrhythmias including ventricular tachycardia and fibrillation in the rat model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion.The results demonstrated that calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP)obviously decreased and delayed the occurrence of ventricular tachycardia and fibrillation(P<0.01),shortened their duration of reperfusion-induced arrhythmias(P<0.05)and reduced mortality(P<0.05).
