Abstract: By means of the loss-of-resistance guidance method, insulated pin-electrodes were inserted into the epidural space through intervertebral puncture for segmental spinal cord stimulation and recording.Typical spinal field potential could be recorded from the epidural space of the lumbar enlargement.which was similar to the field potential recorded from the dorsai surface of the spinal cord directly by silver ball electrode. The result indicates that the method for recording spinal cord field potential by insulated pin electrode through intervertebral puncture can not only be applied to man and big animals but also to small animals like rat.
