Abstract: A number of novel 1, 3, 5-thiadiazine-2-thiones have been synthysized using benzylamine reacted with potassium hydroxide, carbon disulphide, formaldehyde and various amino acids. The structures of compounds have been elucidated by UV, IR, 1H-NMR and elementary analysis. The activity of the compounds against 6 bacterias and 2 fungus was tested in vitro. All compounds were found to be potent against the gramnegative and less potent against the gram-positive and fungus.

Key words: antimicrobial activity, thiadiazinethiones, antimicrobial drug
