F-actin Microfilaments in the Outer Cells of Multicellular Tumor Spheroid (HEP 2)with Different Culture Duration

Abstract:

We have compared the cytoskeleton of F-actin microfilaments in the outer cells of multicellular tumor spheroids(HEp 2) with different culture duration by staining with TRITC labeled phalloidin.Results showed that many F-actin aggregates appeared in the outer cells with the prolongation of MTS culture.These aggregates are dot-like with diameter 0.3～1.0 μm.The reorganization of F-actin microfilaments may not only be related to the greater potential capacity of outer cells to invade and metastasis ,but may also reflect the physical condition of the outer cells.
