Abstract:

Twenty adult Wistar rats were used and divided into two groups,i.e.normal control group and experimental "spleen deficiency" group. The experimental rat had been fed with the decoction of Dahuang. The animals of both groups were killed simultaneously 42 days la ter ,the testes of each animal were studied morphologically and cytochemically. The results of morphological observation in experimental "spleen deficiency" group showed: ①The volume of testis had shrunk.②The seminiferous tubules had changed into irregular shape.③The diameter had shrunk.④The wall had become thinner.⑤The intercellular substances became edematous. The reactivity of SDH, ALP, ACP, ATPase of spermatogonic cells in experimental "spleen deficiency" group showed definite changes on cytochemistry. The reactivity of 3-β-HSDH in interstitial cells was weaker than normal control group. This study demonstrated not only that the function of digestive system became lowered, but also the reproductive system underwent pathological changes.
