Abstract: PreS1 and anti preS1 of HBVin sera of patients with acute (19 cases) and chronic (103 cases) hepatitis Bwere detected with synthetic preS1 peptides and anti serum from the immunized mice. Results:The positive rates of preS1 and anti preS1 were 84.2% and 89.5 % in the acute hepatitis Band 25.0% and 84.2% in the cronic hepatitis B,respectively. The agreement rate of preS1 with HBV DNA and HBeAg were 89.3% and 87.5% respectively. The anti preS1 was positively related with anti HBs. These results suggest that preS1 is the reliable marker of HBV replication, whereas anti preS1 reflects convalensce of the patients with HB and clearance of HBV.
