Detection of preS₁ of HBV and anti preS₁ and Its Clinical Significance

Abstract

Abstract: PreS₁ and anti preS₁ of HBVin sera of patients with acute (19 cases) and chronic (103 cases) hepatitis Bwere detected with synthetic preS₁ peptides and anti serum from the immunized mice. Results:The positive rates of preS₁ and anti preS₁ were 84.2% and 89.5 % in the acute hepatitis Band 25.0% and 84.2% in the cronic hepatitis B,respectively. The agreement rate of preS₁ with HBV DNA and HBeAg were 89.3% and 87.5% respectively. The anti preS₁ was positively related with anti HBs. These results suggest that preS₁ is the reliable marker of HBV replication, whereas anti preS₁ reflects convalensce of the patients with HB and clearance of HBV.
