Abstract:

Thyroid and parathyroid glands of rats with experimental spleen deficiency syndrome were studied by morphological and cytochemical methods. The results of morphological observation showed that thyroid follicles appeared irregular, follicular epithela became low cuboidal and folliclar space became wider than normal. No obvious changes were observed in parathyroid glands. Cytochemical study results showed that the activity of ACP in thyroid follicular cells and PAS of colloid were weaker than normal. LDH and ALP activity in parathyroid glands cells were stonger, whereas ACP activity became weaker. This research demonstrated that thyroid and parathyroid glands of rat with experimental spleen deficiency syndrome underwent pathological changes.
