Pathologic Studies of Placenta Due to Administration of Mifepristone and Misoprostol for Induction of Full-term Labor

Abstract:

Pathologic changes of 22 cases of placenta due to administration of mifepristone and misoprostol for induction of full term labor were examined, 48 cases of normal full term placents were used as control group. Results: ①placental villus enlarged and decreased in number(P<0.01), ②the intervillus space narrowed(P<0.05), ③syncytial knot and syncytial sprout increased(P<0.01), ④capillary of the villus dilated and red blood cells in the capillary increased(P<0.01), ⑤electron microscope: microvillus shortened, decreased in number and disappeared, chromatin in the nucleus increased and condensed, rough endoplasm reticulum dilated, mitochondria swollened.
