Abstract: In order to study the pathogenic mechanism of sudden deafness, the authors investigated and compared the plasma concentrations of ET-1 and CGRP in 24 cases of sudden deafness patients pre and post treatment. The result showsed: In the group in which hearing was clearly improved the concentration of ET-1 were significantly higher pre treatment than post treatment and the concentration of CGRP were much lower pre treatment than post treatment. The result indicated that high plasma concentration of ET-1 and low concentration of CGRP may act as the pathogenic factors predisposing occurrence of sudden deafness.
