Effects of Vaginal Group B StreptococcalCarrier State at Term on Mother infant

Abstract: Toinvestigate effect of vaginalgroup B streptococcalcarrierstate (GBS) in gravid women at term on mother infant. GBS was screened in discharge of 102 gravid women′s vaginal secretion at term and infant′s mouth ear secretion.The prevalence of GBSin these gravid women and their newborn was 32.4 %, 60.6 %, mainly associated with obesity, glucose intolerance.The incidence of puerperal infection was higherin women with GBSthan those without GBS(P< 0.05).It was alsofound thatthere were moreinfant infections in GBSpositive group than in GBSnegative group, however no statistically significant difference (P>0.05).The resuts showed that Gravid women with GBSare associated with maternal and newborn infection.Itis necessary to screen and treatrationally GBSatterm.
