Abstract: The aim was to evaluate the effectiveness and the safety of treatment of endometrial polyps(EP) by hysteroscopy. Retrospectively 108 cases were analysed hysteroscopy scan and transcervical resection of polyp(TCRP) between November 2001 and August 2002 at our center. All operations were performed successfully in one time, with no complications occurred. 98 cases were diagnosed EP by pathological report. The coincidence rate of the hysteroscopic diagnosis and the pathological diagnosis was 90.7%. 90 cases were followed up, 84% cases recovered from menorrhagia, 100% cases recovered from metrorrhagia, 26% primary infertility cases pregnancy successfully after operations. The results indicate that TCRP is the effective and safe way to treat menorrhagia and metrorrhagia caused by EP. TCRP can find out atypical hyperplasia of EP and precancerous lesion, then treat them at earlier period. TCRP is also the first selection to symptomless cases of EP, especially infertility patients.
