Abstract: Objective To explore the clinical features of patients under 50 years old suffering from colorectal cancer and analyze the factors that influence the prognosis, so as to help clinicians to improve the understanding of patients under 50 years old suffering from colorectal cancer. Methods We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of colorectal cancer patients under the age of 50 who received surgical treatment in our hospital from January 1st, 2005 to December 31st, 2012, and collected their postoperative follow-up information. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to draw the survival curve. The Log-rank test was used to the univariate analysis. Factors that were significant in the univariate analysis were included in the COX multivariate regression analysis to determine the independent factors that affected the prognosis. Results The most common clinical manifestations of patients under 50 years old with colorectal cancer were hematochezia and abdominal pain. The proportion of mucinous adenocarcinoma and signet ring cell carcinoma was 25.8%, and the ratio of TNM stage Ⅲ and IV was 61.7%. Multivariate analysis showed that radical operation, tumor deposits were associated with the prognosis of patients under 50 years old with colorectal cancer. Conclusion The patients under 50 years old with colorectal cancer have poor pathological types and late TNM stages. Patients with tumor deposits usually have a poorer prognosis, and radical surgery can improve the prognosis of patients under 50 years of age with colorectal cancer.
