Abstract: Effects of electrolytic lesion of the PVNs on the inhibition of cortically evoked jaw movement(CEJM)induced by stimulation of the central end of the cervical vagus nerve were studied in rabbits. The results showed that no effects could be detected when the PVN was destroyed unilaterally, whereas, the inhibitory influence of vagal stimulation on the CEJM could be abolished by bilateral destruction of the PVNs.
