Abstract: Investigation on intestinal helminthiasis was carried out in 16571 preschoolers of 174 kindergartens in the Beijing proper. Among them, the infection rates of Enterobius vermicularis ,Ascaris lumbricoides and Strongyloides stercoralis were 10.4%,0.1% and 1.4% respectively. Twenty four kindergartens with higher infection rates of pinworm were divided into groups A and B. For controlling enterobiasis ,two different control schemes were undertaken:Selective chemotherapy (A) and the combination of selective chemotherapy and health education(B). The results showed that the pinworm average infection rate of children in group A dropped from 10.7% to 9.6% (P>0.05)and in group B the rate from 13.5% to 6.2% (P<0.01). The reduction rate of group B was higher than that of group A (P<0. 01). It could be concluded that comprehensive control scheme of selective chemotherapy and health education might be the most practical scheme for the control of enterobiasis at present.
