Abstract: 33 cases of chronic hepatitis B (32 cases for control) were treated by cinobufacini. The same management was used for both control and treating groups ,except an additional treatment by injecting 4 mL of cinobufacini per day intramuscularly, for the treating group. There were 45 days in one course of treatment.Afrer one course, the negative conversion rates of HBeAg and HBV-DNA in the treating group were 44.84% and 34.61% respectively, while in the control group they were only 7.14% and 0 respectively. This observation suggests that short-term effect of cinobufacini is rather satisfactory for treating the chronic hepatitis B.
