Abstract: To investigate the effect of rapid induction of anesthesia with inhalation of sevoflurane before/after intravenous infusion of low-dose fentanyl/droperidol.Sixteen ASA Ⅰ~Ⅱ patients under general anesthesia were randomly divided into two groups. In group 1: the 2 μg/kg fentanyl and 0.1 mg/kg droperidol were administrated intravenously during the 5 min after inhalation of sevoflurane, and in group 2: the 2 μg/kg fentanyl and 0.1 mg/kg droperidol were administered intravenously during the 2 min before induction. The results showed that the time necessary for loss of consciousness in group 1 and group 2 was(87±37)s,(39±11)s, and vital capacity breath frequency in group 1 and group 2 was 14.0±5.3, 4.0±0.7 respectively. Changes in blood pressure and heart rate were relatively small. The study shows that induction of anesthesia with inhalation of sevoflurane after intravenous infusion low dose fentanyl droperidol was found to be acceptable.
