Abstract: To study and compare the effect of homemade recombinant human erythropoietin(rHuEPO) with that of imported rHuEPOon patients with anemia in chronic renal failure(CRF) undergoing longterm maintenance hemodialysis. Sixty patients with anemia in CRF undergoing longterm hemodialysis in our hospital were divided into two groups at random. The two groups were treated with homemade and imported rHuEPO respectively. The rate of retculocyte of the patients in both groups increased significantly after a week. HCTreached above thirty percent within twelve weeks and the quality of living was also improved after treatment. There are some side effects such as hypertension, headache, hyperkalemia et al in both group. Either homemade or imported rHuEPO could improve the anemia in CRF safely and effectively. There is no significant difference in the effect of treatment between the two groups.
