Abstract: The cutaneous electrodes, gastric electrodes and strain gauges were used to record the cutaneous gastroelectric activity, gastroelectric smooth muscle slow wave and gastric circle muscle motility in Wistar rats of the control group and the acute stress group through computer, respectively. The data were delt with by time-frequency analysis, and statistics analysis. The differences of the two groups suggested that: ①Cutaneous electrogastrography could reflect the gastric activities, reveal gastric physiological and pathological laws, be applied in clinic as an objective standard to diagnose gastric diseases and evaluate the therapeutic effect to a certain degree. ② Cutaneous electrogastrography reflected not only the electric activities of gastric smooth muscle, but also some information about gastric circle muscle motility.

Key words: electrogastrography, slow wave, gastric motility, time-frequency analysis
