Clinical and Pathophysiological Study on Aneurismal Wall Calcification

Abstract

Abstract: The study reported 16 cases of intracranial aneurysms with calcified wall and investigated the relationship between vascular calcification and pathogenic mechanism of intracranial aneurysms. The location of aneurysms with aneurismal wall calcification was 3 on posterior communicating artery, 2 on middle cerebral artery, 2 on anterior communicating artery; 5 on basilar artery, 4 on basilar artery. All patients had normal serum calcium, phosphate, glucose and normal renal function. 6 patients had elevated serum lipid. Spiral CT scan of 16 patients, clinical data and serum calcium, phosphate, glucose, lipid, renal function of them patients were studied in retrospect. All aneurysms were clipped, in which 8 were resected after clipping.The treatment had well effect.
