Effect of Almond Milk on Antioxidant Capacity in Cancer Patients

Abstract: The aim was to study the effect of Almond milk on antioxidant capacity in cancer patients.One hundred cancer patients were randomly divided into Group A, who administrated Almond milk from 3 weeks before the outset of trial phase to the end of the trail phase, and Group B, who administrated Almond milk from the beginning of trail phase to 3 weeks after the trail phase.SOD, LPO and GSH-Px were measured in both groups.The LPO level decreased evidently as compared to the beginning of trial phase(P<0.05).The SOD activity of subjects showed a significant enhancement at the beginning of trial phase.Almond milk can reduce the free radical damage in cancer patients.
