Abstract:

Objective To evaluate the effects of simvastatin on plasma apoprotein A₁（apoA₁）, apoB₁₀₀ and hs-CRP in hypercholesterolemia.Methods Serum cholesterol, apoA₁, apoB₁₀₀ and hs-CPR were determined before and after treatment with simvastatin 20 mg/d in 79 patients with hypercholesterolemia.Results After treatment with simvastatin, the serum cholesterol, apoB₁₀₀ as well as hs-CRP were significantly decreased（ P <0.01）. And the ratio apoA₁/apoB₁₀₀ was increased significantly（ P < 0.05 ）.Conclusion The lipid lowering treatment with simvastatin can not only decrease serum cholesterol, but also inhibit the inflammation. The results indicate that simvastatin can prevent the development of atherosclerosis by multiple ways.
