Treatment of Adenoidal Hypertrophy by Nd:YAG Laser Under Fiberoptic Laryngoscope

Abstract

Abstract: Objective To study the clinical efficacy of Nd:YAG laser in treating adenoidal hypertrophy.Methods By vaporizing or coagulating with Nd:YAG laser under fiberopic laryngoscope,857 adenoidal hypertrophy patients with nasal obstruction and/or auditory tube compression were treated,all were under surface anesthesia.Results 761 cases were clinical cured,78 cases were improved,18 cases were failed.The cure rate was 97.9%.Conclusion The application of Nd:YAG laser in adenoidal hypertrophy is easy to operate,and minimally invasive.It is reliable and effective for most cases.
