Application of PET-CT in the Diagnosis of Lung Cancer

Abstract:

Lung cancer has been the main death reason of human being cancer.The incidence of lung cancer and death rate increase rapidly in recent years.X ray and CT(computer tomography) scan of thorax can diagnose main part of lung cancer,but there are some difficulty in some small lung lesions.PET(positron emission tomography) have high sensitivity and specificity in early diagnosis,stage and curative effect evaluation of lung cancer,but the space distinguishing is bad.PET-CT can make up these drawbacks.It have the dedicate PET and CT scanner.PET-CT can provide the special information of the two imaging mode.This is a review about the application of PET-CT in the diagnosis of lung cancer.
