Abstract: Objective To examine the relationship between the level of fibrinogen (FIB)and syndrome differentiation of Chinese Traditional Medicine in unstable angina pectoris(UA). Methods Clinical data were collected from 166 patients with unstable angina pectoris and 36 controls traditonal from Jan. 2004 to Dec. 2006 in Beijing TCM Hospital, and the FIB levels and syndromes differentiation of Chinese Traditional Medicine were analyzed as a retrospective research. Results Levels of FIB were significantly higher in UA group than those in controlled group(P<0.01). In UA group, FIB levels in excess syndromes with blood stasis were higher than those in deficiency syndromes with blood stasis(P<0.05); FIB levels in qi-stagnancy and blood stasis syndrome were higher than those in qi-deficiency and blood stasis syndrome(P<0.05). Conclusion There may be a relationship between the level of FIB and the stagnation of the heart blood which is one of the Chinese traditional medical patterns of unstable angina pectoris.
