Abstract:

At 10:00 on January 9, 2009, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, capital of China, in view of commend his predominant contributions to the diagnosis, treatment, scientific research and training of competent personnel for neurosurgery, Hu Jintao, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the PRC and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, ceremoniously granted the 2008 State Supreme Science and Technology Award to Academician Wang Zhongcheng, who is Director of Beijing Neurosurgical Institute, Dean of Neurosurgical School of Capital Medical University, Honorary Director of Beijing Tian Tan Hospital. This article provides an overview of Academician Wang Zhongcheng's resume, chief contributions and its significance.
