Understanding the Shortness of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine, Taking the Advantage of Integration of Both Medicine in Brain Disease

Abstract: The concept of brain disease in traditional Chinese medicine had a long history, and a abundant materials could be found. Brain doesn't belong to five Zang organs, but included in extraordinary Fu-organs in the ancient time, which lead to less recognition of brain. Today, brain diseases can be diagnosed quickly and accurately with the help of modern science and technology, but the curative effect treatment in Western medicine are not satisfied by both doctors and patients. Chinese medicine is taking some advantages in the treatment of following brain diseases, complications post brain operation (such as fever post brain operation), multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, cerebral infarction, and so on. The integration of advantages of both Chinese and Western medicine may largely improve the diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases.
