Explanation of symptoms of multiple sclerosis and its syndromes in Chinese medicine

Abstract: The pathogenic mechanism of each symptom of multiple sclerosis(MS) was mainly explained with classic theory in traditional Chinese medicine. And all symptoms were classified into different syndromes, and to which Zang and Fu organs these symptoms belonged to. The results showed that MS was related to five Zang, especially to both deficiency of kidney and liver yin, secondly to both deficiency of lung and spleen qi, Phlegm, blood stasis and heat joined pathogenic cause. These results laid foundation for treatment and prescription for Chinese patients.
