Evaluation of 246 Cases with Permanent Pacemaker through Different Veins

Abstract: 246 cases with permanent pacemaker through different veins were reported which consisted of 135 cases of men and 111 cases of women.In 122 cases cephalic vein was used with a successful rate of 82% (100 cases), dislocation of 7.4% (9 cases) and local infection of 2.5/00 (3 cases).In 12 cases external jugular vein was used with a successful rate of 91.7%(11 cases ),damage of pacing catheter and local skin infection in 2 cases.In 112 cases subclavian vein was used with a successful rate of 97.3% (109 cases), local infection ,pneumothorax and dislocation in 1 case each.
