Abstract:

We notice that the aminoglycoside induced hearing loss often happens with an obviously high familial susceptibility, showing a mother to child genetic phenomenon. To find the immunogenetic mechanism of this disease,we chose 8 affected kindreds, in each of which there was no blood relationship between father and mother, to test the family members'HLA types. The linkage analysis (with Lods Method), haploid analysis and affected sib pairs analysis were done after the typing. The results suggest that the gene(s) which affects the susceptibility of antibiotic induced hearing loss is possibly linked with the HLAgenes and is inherited according to a model of autosomal dominant inheritance.
