Abstract: The author together with coworkers from Beijing,Shanghai Ha'erbin,Shenyang and Wuhan, performed a contrast study among EEG,BEAM,TCDand CTin 296 cases of hypertension at different stages and found that hypertension not only resulted in vascular disorder of the heart and brain, but also gave rise to changes in the brain funtion and blood flow dynamics at the early stage of the onset. The changes could be revealed by EEG,BEAMand TCD,instead of CT.The author discovered that there were great differences in different stages of hypertension during the functional check, which had a parallel relationship with the patient's status of progress. Among these functional examinations,TCDshowed the highest sensitivity for reflecting the change in hypertension and followed by BEAMand EEGin a descending order. These indexes are of great value for the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension,as well as prediction of the blood vessel trouble.
