Abstract: For investigating the relationship between essential hypertension and atherosclerosis, metabolism of lipids and marker of thrombin activation in 25 patients with essential hypertension and 20 normal subjects were observed. It was found that apoAand PGAwere significant lower and PAIwere significant higher in hypertension group than in control group (P <0.001 and 0.01),there was positive correlation between systolic hypertension and oxLDL (P <0.01). It is suggested that essential hypertension is one of the important dangerous factors in inducing atherosclerosis.
