Influence of Overweight and Obesity on Lipids and Blood Pressure

Abstract: High, body weight, blood pressure, lipids and blood glucose of 459 subjects working in capital university of medical sciences were examined. The results showed: With increasing age, total cholesterol and triglyceride increased; with increased body mass index, the level of lipids and blood pressure increased, and morbidity of high lipids, lipoprotein and essential hypertension increased. Stepwise multivariate analysis diclosed that age alone and jointly positively correlated with total choleserol and triglyceride in women; body mass index alone and jointly positively correlated with triglyceride. It was suggested that control body weight was very important in middle aged and elderly subjects.
