Abstract: Northern Han Chinese patients with Grave disease and 52 healthy controls were randomly chosen. Ploymerase chain reaction and sequence specific primer (PCR/SSP) were used to determine the frequency of HLA DR2 and DR3. The frequency of DR3 was increased in Grave disease patients, the relative risk (RR) was 3.84(P<0.05). The RR of DR2 was 1.16(P>0.05). The above results suggested that HLA DR3 is associated with Grave disease in Northern Han Chinese.
