Colon bacillus (17×108/kg)was injected into right jugular. Serum endotoxins, blood routine, blood gas analysis, mean arterial pressure(MAP), heart rate (HR), temperature and breath rate were examined 1, 3, 5, and 7 h after injection respectively. Results 3 h after models were made with standard colon bacillus, all animals had endotoxemia; 5 h later, and 100% animals had MODS.Conclusion An useful animal model of MODS is provided by the present study.
