Investigation and analysis of related factors in 437 patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome

Abstract:

Objective To investigate the factors related to polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS), such as, familial, lifestyle, habits and mental status, which will provide scientific basis of prevention and clinical treatment for PCOS. Methods A total of 782 women in reproductive age including 437 cases of PCOS(PCOS group) and 345 cases of normal healthy women in reproductive age(control group) were recruited. All participants had detailed history taking and answered questions via the self-scale questionnaire. Results Irregular life schedule, mother has history of oligomenorrhea or infertility, mother has older menopause age, lacking fresh fruits and vegetables, and lacking physical exercise were related factors of PCOS. Conclusion Good lifestyle and habits as well as regular physical exercise are effective method to prevent PCOS.
